About Me

My name is Jason, though many know me as Quaker Jay. I am a convinced Friend—a Quaker drawn by conviction rather than birth—and walk as a Conservative Friend within the Religious Society of Friends. At the heart of my journey is a deep love for Traditional Quaker Christianity and the guiding presence of the Inward Light of Christ, which directs me toward simplicity, peace, integrity, and faithfulness in daily life.

I strive to embody the Quaker testimonies of simple living, plain dress, and plain speech (when amongst other Friends)—not as outward forms alone, but as living expressions of an inward reality. For me, these practices are not burdens but gifts: ways of keeping close to Christ, unencumbered by excess, and attentive to what truly matters.

I live in southern New England, where my daily work involves serving the unsheltered—offering support, advocating for their needs, and walking alongside them in the hope of securing stable housing. This labor is, for me, part of living out the call of Christ to love and care for the least among us.

When not working, I can often be found with a book and a warm cup of coffee, hiking the quiet woods, or foraging for wild foods and medicines. In the spirit of early Friends, I hold a deep appreciation for natural and holistic ways of health, seeking balance between body, mind, and spirit.

Through this website, I hope to share reflections, insights, and encouragement drawn from the well of Quaker tradition, for both those newly seeking and those seasoned in the way. My prayer is that, together, we may be drawn closer to the Light that has come into the world, which still shines in the hearts of all.
